Utility and Heavy-Duty Vehicle Mechanic

About the role

Adecco is recruiting on behalf of its client for a Utility/Heavy-Duty Vehicle Mechanic (M/F) in MOUGUERRE, for a 3-month temporary assignment starting as soon as possible. You will work at a site dedicated to renting construction equipment with an operator. The company focuses on the reliability of its equipment and the quality of service provided to its partners. In your day-to-day work, you will contribute to the safety and availability of the utility and heavy-duty vehicle fleet.

This is a heavy-duty vehicle mechanic position at the Mouguerre branch. You will maintain mobile cranes, crane trucks, trucks and trailers, working on both the carrier vehicle and the crane, to ensure routine maintenance and equipment availability.

The proposed contract is a 3-month temporary contract, full-time, with daytime working hours, based in MOUGUERRE (64990). The position is available as soon as possible. The required education level is below the baccalaureate level, and entry-level applicants are accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment in accordance with internal procedures.
• Carry out general maintenance, diagnose mechanical breakdowns, and work on chassis and running gear components.
• Perform work on clutches, and fit and maintain tires, ensuring repairs comply with requirements and interventions are tracked.
• Maintain mobile cranes, crane trucks, trucks and trailers, on both the carrier vehicle and crane components, to ensure routine maintenance and equipment availability.
• Follow technical instructions rigorously and comply with maintenance and safety procedures.

Requirements

• You enjoy workshop work, mechanical diagnostics, and working on utility or heavy-duty vehicles.
• The position is suited to someone motivated, meticulous, and keen to develop while contributing to equipment reliability.
• You are comfortable working as part of a team and can follow technical instructions rigorously.
• Several backgrounds may be considered: a mechanic with military experience, a heavy-duty vehicle mechanic, an agricultural mechanic, or a very experienced light-vehicle mechanic who is motivated to learn and develop in the maintenance of mobile cranes and crane trucks.
• A technician already experienced with mobile cranes, with knowledge of both carrier-vehicle mechanics and crane-specific components, is particularly valued.
• You are rigorous and organized in following maintenance and safety procedures.
• You can work independently on routine tasks and respond quickly to unforeseen situations.
• Technical skills: you are proficient in, or willing to learn, work on the chassis of utility and heavy-duty vehicles.
