Heavy-Duty Mechanic – Mobile Cranes

About the role

Adecco is recruiting on behalf of its client for a Utility Vehicle/Heavy-Duty Vehicle Mechanic in MOUGUERRE, for a 3-month temporary assignment starting as soon as possible. You will work at a site dedicated to renting construction equipment with operators. The company emphasizes the reliability of its equipment and the quality of service provided to its partners. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, in accordance with internal procedures. You will handle general maintenance, diagnose mechanical faults, and carry out work on the chassis and running gear. In particular, you will perform clutch work, tire installation and maintenance, ensuring repairs are compliant and interventions are tracked.

This is a heavy-duty vehicle mechanic position for the Mouguerre branch. You will maintain mobile cranes, crane trucks, trucks and trailers, working on both the carrier vehicle and the crane, to ensure routine maintenance and equipment availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment in accordance with internal procedures.
• Carry out general maintenance and diagnose mechanical faults.
• Work on the chassis and running gear of utility and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Perform clutch work, including removal and refitting, following manufacturer recommendations.
• Install and maintain tires, checking their condition and compliance.
• Maintain mobile cranes, crane trucks, trucks and trailers, including both the carrier vehicle and crane.
• Ensure repairs comply with requirements and keep track of interventions.
• Contribute to the safety and availability of the vehicle fleet and equipment.

Requirements

You enjoy workshop work, mechanical diagnostics and working on utility or heavy-duty vehicles. This position is suited to someone who is motivated, meticulous and keen to develop their skills in support of equipment reliability. You are comfortable working as part of a team and can follow technical instructions carefully.

Several backgrounds may be considered: a mechanic with a military background, a heavy-duty vehicle mechanic, an agricultural mechanic, or a very experienced light-vehicle mechanic who is motivated to learn and develop in the maintenance of mobile cranes and crane trucks. A technician already experienced with mobile cranes, with expertise in both carrier-vehicle mechanics and the crane-specific components, is particularly valued.

• Personal skills: You are rigorous and organized in following maintenance and safety procedures. You work well in a team and communicate clearly with your contacts. You are independent in your routine tasks and responsive when unexpected situations arise.
• Technical skills: You are proficient in, or willing to learn, work on the chassis of utility and heavy-duty vehicles. You can work on a clutch from removal through refitting, following manufacturer recommendations. You handle tire installation and maintenance, ensuring their condition and compliance.
• The proposed contract is a 3-month temporary contract, full-time, with daytime working hours, based in MOUGUERRE (64990).
• The position is available as soon as possible.
• A qualification below the baccalauréat level is required; beginners are accepted.
