Following a retirement, the Saint-Claude establishment is looking for a Qualified Mechanic H/F who can handle both light and heavy mechanical work. Beyond technical skills, the company is looking for someone who wants to join a team, share family values and contribute over the long term to customer satisfaction.

As a qualified mechanic, you will work on vehicles of various makes and models. You will handle routine maintenance, diagnostics, mechanical repairs and more technical work according to identified needs. Your role covers both light and heavy mechanical work: servicing, oil changes, brakes, tires, running gear, clutches, timing systems, engine components, fault-finding, inspections and road tests. You will work methodically, following procedures, safety instructions and the deadlines communicated to customers. Your goal is simple: to do reliable, clean and professional work, ensuring vehicle safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the necessary diagnostics to identify the cause of faults or malfunctions.
• Handle routine maintenance: oil changes, servicing, brakes, tires, inspections, fluid levels, replacement of wear parts and vehicle preparation.
• Perform more advanced mechanical work as needed: timing systems, clutches, engine components, running gear, fault-finding or technical repairs.
• Carry out vehicle road tests to verify the quality of the work performed.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the workshop: keeping it tidy, respecting tools, maintaining your workstation, reporting information and communicating with the team.

Requirements

• Ideally, have experience in a garage, auto centre or multi-brand workshop.
• Be comfortable with both routine maintenance and more technical work.
• Be able to diagnose faults, understand a diagnosis, replace the necessary parts and check the quality of your work.
• Be rigorous, organized and attentive to detail.
• Take pride in doing good work and be able to follow instructions, deadlines and safety rules.
• Team spirit is important for this position. You will join an establishment where mutual support, communication and a good atmosphere have a real place.
• Have a sense of customer service: even when working in the workshop, your work directly contributes to the trust customers place in the company.
• A Category B driving licence is required for vehicle road tests and any travel related to the position.
• Training in automotive mechanics is appreciated, but experience, autonomy and the ability to perform the role will be decisive.
