Position: Truck and Equipment Mechanic (M/F)
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles, public works machinery, urban cleanliness equipment, and agricultural machinery at the workshop located at La Cotonnière site or directly at the urban community sites of Caen la mer.
You'll work on various systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical circuits. Your duties include diagnosing malfunctions, identifying defective parts, and ordering replacement parts. Additionally, you will help organize and maintain the workshop.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Candidates should hold a relevant technical qualification such as CAP, BEP, or BAC Pro in repair, heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery, or public works, or have significant professional experience in the field. A strong knowledge of mechanics, repair techniques, and standards is essential. You stay updated on technological advancements (engine injection, hydraulics, electricity) applicable to all types of vehicles and equipment.
You must respect hygiene and safety regulations, demonstrate rigor, organization, and effective communication skills with clients and management. A category B driving license is required; category C/E is desirable.
Work Conditions
Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday work during emergencies, especially due to weather conditions like storms or floods, with on-call duties and participation in winter road safety measures. Expect physical work including lifting over 20kg and working in dusty, noisy, and odorous environments.

The Materials Fleet Service manages and maintains the automotive and rolling equipment fleet for the urban community of Caen la mer, the city of Caen, and the CCAS. Under team leadership, the mechanic ensures repairs of heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery, public works equipment, and urban cleanliness vehicles as well as oversees external service providers.
