Heavy Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic (M/F)

Job Overview

You will ensure the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles, public works machinery, urban cleanliness equipment, and agricultural machinery either at the Cotonnière workshop or on-site within the Caen la mer Urban Community. Your responsibilities include working on hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, diagnosing faults, and ordering defective parts. You will also contribute to organizing and maintaining the workshop.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates hold a CAP/BEP or BAC Pro in repair, heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery, or public works or have significant professional experience in this field. Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to follow evolving technologies (injection engines, hydraulics, electricity) are essential. You are rigorous, methodical, and communicate effectively. A B driver's license is required; C/E licenses are a plus.

Working Conditions

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required for emergencies, including during adverse weather conditions. The job entails handling loads over 20kg and working in frequently dusty, noisy, and odorous environments.

Join CAEN LA MER’s equipment fleet service, responsible for managing and maintaining the fleet of vehicles and machinery across the Caen la mer Urban Community, the city of Caen, and the CCAS. Work under the supervision of the team leader to perform repairs and oversee external service providers.
