FDB Industries, located in Caudan near Lorient, is an industrial company that produces raw and pre-machined cast iron foundry parts for various sectors such as defense, automotive, and railways. The company employs nearly 270 staff across various production roles, maintenance, engineering, quality, logistics, and support functions. Recently acquired by the Europlasma Group in May 2025, it aims to become the future leader in manufacturing defense parts. The company is engaged in continuous improvement with a modernization plan involving over 20 million euros to update its industrial facilities.

As a mechanic at Fonderie de Bretagne, your responsibilities include:

• Regular monitoring of installations.
• Ensuring control, maintenance, and repair services for installations and equipment.
• Monitoring machine operations, anticipating breakdowns, repairing, and enhancing machine efficiency.
• Cleaning, repairing, and replacing faulty parts and mechanisms.
• Diagnosing issues and proposing solutions, coordinating corrective maintenance operations.
• Writing technical intervention reports.
• Improving maintenance procedures.
• Modifying mechanical assemblies in collaboration with technical support.
• Performing machining operations with milling machines or lathes.
• Participating in continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensuring accurate communication of tasks and instructions.
• Training less experienced colleagues through adaptation and demonstration.

A five-year experience is preferred, though beginners are welcome. A general mechanics degree is desired. Essential skills include observation, precision, practical and theoretical mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining (turning/milling), basic robotics, computer tools, and the ability to read plans, diagrams, and technical manuals.
